FAQs
What do the funds cover?
Our funds are used to provide small equipment, items, activities, and experiences that are not covered by insurance to individuals with differing abilities in an effort to enhance their lives and enable inclusive experiences for them individually and/or with their family.

A portion of our funds may also provide small grants and scholarships to non-profit organizations for their efforts to enhance the lives of those with differing abilities.

What kind of experiences, activities, and equipment do you fund?
Experiences/Activities: Adaptive Skiing, Adaptive Horse Back Riding, Grand Canyon River Rafting, Swimming with Dolphins, Dance Classes, Rock Climbing, Attending a Broadway Musical, Attending a football game, and more.
Equipment: Beach Wheelchair rental, Adaptive Bike Caddie, Adaptive Swim Device, Jogging Stroller, and more.

Do you help with medical or utility bills?
Sorry. We do not help with medical or utility bills.

Do you help with equipment or devices?
Yes! Depending on the equipment or device. We would consider ancillary equipment that your health insurance does not typically pay
for such as, a jogging stroller, adaptive bike caddie, adaptive swim float or funding to rent a beach wheelchair on vacation.
What are differing abilities?
The term "differing abilities" is often used instead of "special needs" or "disabilities". The use of this term enhances the fact that everybody has unique abilities. Sometimes the word "disability" implies a lack of ability.

When will the “I Can Too” application be open?
The “I Can Too” application is open twice a year. It is open March 1st-31st and September 1st -31st. Once spring applications are submitted and reviewed, applicants will be notified by the beginning of May. Once fall applications are submitted and reviewed, the applicants will be notified by the end of November.
Can I apply more than once?
For Individuals:
Yes, individuals may apply more than once for a different experience, activity, or piece of equipment. If you apply but do not receive funding, you may apply again within the same calendar year. To help serve as many individuals as possible, new applicants are always prioritized, and individuals may receive only one grant per year. Applicants may also submit only one application per granting cycle.
For example, if you apply in the Spring 2025 round, you would not be eligible to apply again until the Spring 2026 round. The same applies to the fall cycle—if you apply in Fall 2025, you would not be eligible to apply again until Fall 2026.
For Nonprofit Organizations:
Yes, nonprofit organizations may apply more than once. If a nonprofit applies and does not receive funding, it may apply again within the same year. New applicants are prioritized, but nonprofits may apply in both the spring and fall rounds as long as each request is for a different purpose.
