In Memory of Sam “The I Can Man” Weyrich
Those fortunate enough to know Sam “The I Can Man”, know that Sam was able to do anything he put his mind to, because he truly believed “I Can Too”. We would like to keep his memory alive by helping Sam continue to make a difference in other's lives. On behalf of Sam Weyrich, The Sam The I Can Man Foundation would like to make a difference in the lives of individuals with differing abilities.
Sam The I Can Man Foundation offers funding to provide small equipment, items, activities, and experiences to individuals with differing abilities in an effort to enhance their lives and enable inclusive experiences for them individually and/ or with their family. Funds are awarded to individuals with differing abilities and organizations who believe they can carry forth Sam’s legacy of “I Can Too”. Inspiring people to believe “I Can Too” was a very important part of Sam's life. These funds are an extension of Sam's message that you can do anything you set your mind to.
Applicants (individuals and organizations) interested in applying for funding from Sam The I Can Foundation must complete all sections of the online application including the long answers. If you are submitting on behalf of an individual with differing abilities, please note it in the “I Can Too” Application. All information provided on this application is personal and confidential and will be used solely for the purposes of consideration for funds. Please Note: This application is for United States residents only.
Only applications received online will be accepted. To apply for funds from Sam The I Can Foundation please complete the online “I Can Too” Application. Applications filled out incompletely will be denied.
To be considered for funding, you will also be asked to complete an interview with the "I Can Too" Team via zoom. These interviews will take place the first two weeks after the applications close. Please consider adding info@samtheicanman.org into your contacts so you do not miss the chance to schedule an interview.
Sam The I Can Foundation awards funding twice per year. Applications are accepted in the months of March and September and awarded in the months of May and November. To apply please check back in March or September.

For Individuals: Individuals may apply more than once for a different experience, activity, or piece of equipment. If you apply but do not receive funding, you may apply again within the same calendar year. To help serve as many individuals as possible, new applicants are always prioritized, and individuals may receive only one grant per year. Applicants may also submit only one application per granting cycle.
For example, if you apply in the Spring 2025 round, you would not be eligible to apply again until the Spring 2026 round. The same applies to the fall cycle—if you apply in Fall 2025, you would not be eligible to apply again until Fall 2026.
For Nonprofit Organizations: Nonprofit organizations may apply more than once. If a nonprofit applies and does not receive funding, it may apply again within the same year. New applicants are prioritized, but nonprofits may apply in both the spring and fall rounds as long as each request is for a different purpose.
The next granting cycle applications will be open from March 1-31st, 2026.
Applicants will hear from the "I Can Too" team by Friday, April 3rd and will be asked to schedule an interview. Interviews will take place from April 6-17 via zoom. Applicants must complete an interview for their application to be fully considered. If you have not heard by April 3rd, please check your spam folder from an email from info@samtheicanman.org.
